I'm the morning shift manager over at our newest Atlanta studio, so I usually arrive at work between 3 and 4 AM. I see which teams are going to which events, and it’s my job to logistically handle everything they need to perform a successful shoot. Funnily enough, I've always worked early morning jobs, so I think I do early morning better than late night, which is like the opposite of a lot of people that I talk to.
This is my first year actively involved in interviewing, hiring, and recruiting, and I'm so fanatically passionate about the people that I'm bringing into the fold! I have a group of 10 to 12 new hires, and I’m already watching them grow and interact with their orientation group and others. It’s just really heartwarming to me.
"We promoted one of my hires to lead photographer and it's just such an amazing experience to see people you bring into the fold personally grow and learn. It makes me even more invested in Cady in a completely different way."
I'm not your run-of-the-mill manager. I was hired in June 2020, and I was promoted to manager by December. I think my quick trajectory is due to how much I try to invest in our people. I try to connect with them personally, and I know that a couple of our staff had really hard personal lives this past year, so trying to relate to them, and enrich them in a way that makes them feel like a person and not just an employee.
